NEXT COMMITTEE MEETING   Saturday, October 28, 2006 10:00 am Austin, TX   AGENDA * Review the status of WBCB and recent communications from Iraq. * Discuss current/future projects: 1. A visit of to Amman (January or February?) to meet with a delegation from Iraq and also to meet with Iraqi refugee families who aren't receiving much help from the NGOs. 2. Baghdad-Texas Art exhibit. A group in Chicago recently put together an impressive exhibit and we'd like to do something similar in Texas. Most of these painters are women and it helps to generate revenue while showing contemporary culture. 3. Streetlight project. A pilot of 50 solar-powered LED streetlights for small town in Iraq, that should help with security. The plan is to eventually start a streetlight manufacturing business to be run by, and employ, Iraqis. The replacement of streetlights in Baghdad and elsewhere presents a good long term opportunity (particularly with a solar-powered solution).   Please contact Charlie Jackson cjackson@accleros.com 512.736.8385 if you are interested in serving on this committee or would like to serve on a local (city) committee.

We are just getting started, but there are many ways to get involved:

1. Contact us about joinging our network Texas businesses who are interested in this project.

2. Donate to the Women's Business Center of Baghdad, or one of our projects. All funds go directly to the project.

3. Become better informed about the issues of Iraq and the Iraqi economy.

4. Participate in a future business exchange delegation to Baghdad.
